The Process

Each piece requires an in-depth evaluation to determine the extent of work required to clean/restore /repair/conserve prior to giving an estimate of cost as well as approx. time to complete the works. Once accepted a photographic record is kept through out the entire process.

The company utilises only the best calibre paints & materials in order to achieve the highest grade of finish. Acid free paper & board is used.

For oil paintings, once the cleaning has been completed, any repairs to the actual painting that are required are achieved whilst having regard to avoiding interfering with the integrity of the artists original intentions. For watercolours -the removing of mould(fox) marks is done by fumigation. The process has no effect on the colour or substance of the work.

Work is usually carried out under high magnification equipment.
